About Perth Zoo

The Perth Zoo is the oldest continually running zoo in Australia and one of its most popular tourist attractions. The 17-hectare (41 acres) facility opened to much fanfare on April 27th, 1898; it now houses 1258 animals from 164 species within its 41 acres! It's also an institutional member with ZAA and WAZA - which means that this place has been around long enough for us all--grownups included!--to enjoy some memorable moments together while exploring these beautiful surroundings like never before.

On January 9, 1897, the Perth Zoo was born. This eventful day in Australian history marked one of many milestones our country's Ronald zoos achieved during their inception period, which spanned over 100 years (96-1938).

Perth Zoo is one of the most modern zoos in Australia, with facilities that are up to date and informative for visitors. They continue on as part of this global conservation community whose goal can be to enrich experiences through nature-focused activities while also inspiring people's passions about protecting biodiversity so we have fewer species extinction rates today!

What to do at Perth Zoo

Perth Zoo has three main zones - Australian Walkabout, Asian Rainforest and African Savannah- with a few minor exhibit areas (Lesser Primates) all designed to mimic the animals' natural habitats. They utilise passive barriers where possible so that these wonderful creatures can enjoy their lives in peace!

It has one Main Lake is home to two unique exhibits, one with black-and-white ruffed lemurs and another that houses Javan gibbons. Next door to these animal homes are other areas where visitors can find Australian pelicans swimming around in their natural habitat, as well as a cafe for those who want some food after seeing all the animals!

You can go on one of many exciting adventures and see different animals in their natural habitats at the Perth Zoo. For instance, if you have an interest in Asian rainforests or African savannahs then make sure to stop by because they offer plenty for everyone!
